Denver, CO (June 22, 2011) – Second Saturday at Black Book Gallery in July will entail a visit by two artists from Southern California, Phil Lumbang and Ernesto Yerena Montejano.

Animals are our relatives. Dead Relatives is a special look at death, as a satire. Usually a taboo subject in many cultures, Mexican traditions revere death. Death is celebrated, it is humorous. The Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) patterns embodied by the endearing silhouettes of chosen animals set a cunning tone to the show. The styles of Ernesto Yerena and Philip Lumbang contrast and compliment. Whether the animal is mythological or culturally relevant, each animal carries a message that the artists would like for the audience to ponder. The dynamics of the artists collaboration result in striking imagery with two different styles working in perfect balance.

The Outsiders are releasing some new Stanley Donwood prints right now. The details are below, and the price for any purchased will be £120.

Exclusive to The Outsiders galleries and online: Radiohead artwork by the band’s ‘sixth member’, Stanley Donwood. This is the first time these distinctive pieces employing Radiohead’s signature cover style have been released as prints.

Including the covers of ‘Kid A’ and ‘Lucky’, each Giclée print is a signed and numbered edition of ten priced at £120 (purchase here).

New Handiedan Prints For Sale + Translucent Skin Show

At last, some new prints from one of my favorite artists, Handiedan. I love Snowhite No3 and Jane Stone No.2 will be dropping on December 19th at 10pm EST. These prints have a small edition size of 50 a piece, and are going up in conjunction with the opening of her solo show titled Translucent Skin.

Phone Booth Gallery is pleased to present “Translucent Skin,” a solo exhibition of mixed media artwork by Dutch artist Handiedan. The show will run from December 19 to January 21, 2010 and the opening party will be held December 19th from 7-10 pm. The all ages event is a dual effort between Phone Booth Gallery and Blaq Ink Gallery and will be at 126 Main St, No. 103, Huntington Beach, CA, 92648. The exhibition will be accompanied by a limited edition shirt released by Sullen Clothing and two of Handiedan’s ever-popular editioned prints.

Little Red Riding’s Hood and Vogue Face By Mudwig

POW just dropped a couple new prints by Mudwig. Little Red Riding’s Hood and Vogue Face are two eccentric prints that blend old advertising imagery with some fresh Mudwig remixing. Both are a bit twisted, but both are guranteed to stir up conversation. Details are below!

The thrill of seeing a Mudwig-subverted billboard in real life is hard to beat, but with this technique we might be getting halfway close. Basically Mister Mudwig finds an old magazine advert, gets it scanned and printed in the proper lithographic style, then we screen print his awkward, spindly poetry over the top. The result? Maximum dark visual entertainment that is genuinely, actually, kind of ‘new’.
