On July 3rd, Ian Millard will be opening his new exhibit at My Addiction Gallery in Tucson AZ titled New Findings: Original Art by Ian K. Millard. Not only will originals be showcased, but an original print will be available as well. If you are in the Tucson area in July, than this is the place to be.

“new findings” is an exhibition showcasing the work of denver artist ian k. millard. after a visit to a museum featuring a dinosaur exhibit, millard became inspired to incorporate the ancient skeletons into his prints. the works were created using his technique of multiple intricate hand cut stencils and spray paint layered on top of each other to create images on wooden boxes.

“new findings” is the artist’s latest body of original designs which explore the concept of a modern archeological dig, juxtaposing the bones of prehistoric jurassic creatures with bling, or other accessories associated with the modern hip-hop culture that helped popularize methods used in printmaking as a form of street art.

With a bit of a departure from the Ian Millard norm, He’s about to drop some mixed media collages on us that are 100% certified CRUNK. Sorry for the abbreviated update today everybody, but my day is jam packed with awesome stuff. Today marks the day of my wife and I’s first ultrasound of our baby! Also, I have some very good friends in town, so I’m popping this update as fast as possible so that I can be Mr. Social. This explosion of music notes entangled within an eye popping color palette is sure to sell out crazy fast. I am pleased to introduce my latest stencil and spraypaint print titled, “ABCMYKG”. The print was designed for an upcoming art show where the theme is CMYK vs RGB. I choose the CMYK color palette (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) for my prints theme. The design is a nebula of flying musical notes that converge into a swirl in the middle of the print. “ABCMYKG” is 16″x20″ and splattered/stenciled on White Strathmore Bristol paper. I created an edition of 10 prints with white backgrounds and an edition of 10 prints with black backgrounds. I also created 3 one of a kind prints with cyan, magenta and yellow backgrounds. I will be offering some of the ABCMYKG prints Thursday August 20 at 10am Mountain Time USA at IansPrints.com/available-art.php. The print will also be available to view/buy at the CMYKvsRGB Art Show on August 21 at Space Gallery in Denver, Colorado.

In a little over 8 hours from now (August 7th at 10am mountain time), Ian Millard is releasing two Upper North Lot canvases on his site. These canvases measure 38″x9″x2″ and are an edition of 3. On top of the canvases, a handful of Upper North Lot prints that were left over from the Mock Show last weekend will be up for purchase.
